I had the Wordpress plugin “Simply Exclude” installed both on here and on my JonWarrenPhotography.com site.  Until today I hadn’t really used it over on my photography site, since I only had the one category of posts there and therefore didn’t need to exclude anything.  However, I’ve recently started importing my Twitter feed there (like I’ve been doing here for a while) and wanted to exclude those posts from my main posts page (like I’ve been doing here successfully with Simply Exclude for a while).

I thought I’d write a short review on the latest incarnation of Windows Mobile — Windows Mobile 6.5 — because of how long it’s been since I’d last touched Microsoft’s operating system for mobile devices. The last device I used that utilized a Microsoft mobile OS was the Compaq Aero 1550 that I got 2000-2001. It had Microsoft Pocket PC on it (which was basically a slightly updated version of Windows CE 3.0). Jump forward 8-9 years and they’ve managed to rename that OS another time and release 6 more versions of it.

I installed an Alpha build of Mozilla Fennec on my new phone that’s running Windows Mobile 6.5 and uninstalled it about 5-minutes later.

It’s an alpha release… and it’s a damn good thing that it is. It looks like it might have potential to take on Mobile IE and Mobile Opera, but at the moment it didn’t even resize to fit my screen. That kinda makes it unusable.

This is a fairly-early-in-my-time-with-the-device review, but I think I’m almost done getting it set up close to how I want it.

Last week, Wednesday or Thursday I think, I carelessly didn’t pay attention getting into my car after work and shut my phone (that was in my jacket pocket) in the door with enough force to pop the battery out bending a plastic support piece. The outer display screen was completely shot — still lit up, but nothing was displayed. The inner display was only about a third shattered, but that third was more than half of the area used to display info. So I quickly went online and ordered a new phone.
