Chili

Cooking Time: 40 min.
Prep Time: 15 min.
Servings: 8-16
2 lbs.   Ground Beef (sirloin, round, chuck, etc.)
1 large onion (white or yellow)
1 28oz can tomatoes (whole, diced, crushed, or stewed)
1 16oz can light red kidney beans
1 16oz can dark red kidney beans
1 16oz can black beans
1 16oz can red beans
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 6oz can tomato paste
1 4oz can mushrooms (pieces) — or fresh, chopped.
 
2-3   bay leaves
  chili powder (to taste)
  salt (to taste)
  black pepper (to taste)
  cayenne pepper (to taste)
  cumin (to taste)
  paprika (to taste)
  Tabasco Sauce (to taste)
  habanero sauce (to taste)
  barbecue sauce (to taste)
  hickory smoke seasoning (to taste)
  • Brown the ground beef with the onion in a very large stew pot.
  • Add the remaining items and heat over medium to low heat stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste and continue simmering for another 10 minutes.
