I saw this quote on someone’s Facebook page a little bit ago, but didn’t want to “drag down” the “positive vibe” they were trying to send.

“Passion persuades.” — Anita Roddick

Passion most certainly does persuades… it persuades people to avoid the crap outta ya.  It’s been my experience that people do not like passionate people.

We scare them or something.  Oh, they might say that people need to be passionate about what they love, or that we need people to get passionate about this or that, but they don’t really mean it.  It’s just a saying that sounds good.  If you actually are passionate about something and show that passion, they’ll jump all over your ass telling you to stop believing in what you do or call you every vile name they can come up with.

“Passion persuades.”  Sure.  Yep.  But for positive persuasion you’ll need to keep your passion in check, dole it out slowly and cautiously, and restrain it from ever being true passion.  True passion is unbridled — and in that form, is a bad thing.
